UPSC Mains Exam 2013 New Pattern & Syllabus : Expected Change in 2013

UPSC new Mains Syllabus,UPSC Main Examination exam pattern,Question pattern Change,UPSC Mains Exam 2013 New Pattern & Syllabus : Expected Change in 2013

UPSC Mains Exam 2013:

As informed by the Chairman DP Agarwal, two successive committees (Alagh committee and 2nd ARC) have recommended the pattern change in clear terms. These reports are already out in public. Since there is very small time gap for the 2012 exam, it is neither prudent nor practical to rush the change right away. Moreover, a high level panel has been set-up to finalize the details of new syllabus and pattern in December, 2011. From the tone of UPSC Chairman, it is almost certain that he wants to see it implemented as soon as possible.

Comments

  1. There may be no change as upsc calender 2013 shows 21 days for mains exam , if change takes place it will not take 21 days if subjects are in the above pattern so no change but UPSC has pushed the date back for mains may be taking time for change yet very little hope for change

  2. They have provided 5 Months 21 days after prelims for mains examination. There is no other reason for such a huge gap other than that they want to change the mains pattern. DP Agrawal has said it in March interview that “mostly” it’ll be implemented from 2013. And where it is mentioned 21 days for mains examination just below in red it is mentioned that these days are tentative to change. http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-03-05/jaipur/31123596_1_upsc-exam-union-public-service-commission-ans

    • You Have a valid point Vivek. But Diwali is on 3rd November 2013 in 2013 Calendar.Could it be because of this that they have provided such a huge gap??? Just a query whether this factor plays a role or not.

      • No it cannot be because of that…last year (2011) diwali was on 26th and our paper started on 28th oct.
        Recent Update:
Prof. Nigavekar Committee’s Report has been submitted to UPSC in Aug 2012
and UPSC has forwarded with recommendations to the Government on 31.10.2012.

    • Good Point Vivek. But diwali next year is on 3rd November 2013. Could it be because of this factor or not??? Just a query.

  3. Nice Vivek. and Mukul great million dollar question posed by you. Lets us bring crakers to Exam hall and celebrate. Also lets get colours (holi) for the interview !

  4. Ha ha ha……Great all of are very serious aspariants i see…..in ur face u ll reach interview or even mains !

  5. I think that it is unlikely that the pattern would change by 2013. The committee constituted to study the plausible changes, yet haven’t submitted its recommendations. Even after the committee does submit it, the UPSC will constitute probably, another committee, to examine the suggestions in detail. The whole process is cumbersome and time-consuming and hence can be implemented overnight. Most probably it will take place in 2014 or most likely 2015.

What I have said is my subjective opinion and should not be construed as having any inherent authenticity, as I am like everyone of you a fellow aspirant, who is equally ignorant of what might actually turn out to, in the future…..

  8. Vijayaragavan says:

Nigavekar Committee submitted its report on 30.8.12 itself..Recommendations of the Committee, after due consideration of the Commission have been forwarded to Govt. of India on 31.10.2012 and their response is awaited….So,we can expect change by 2013 itself!!!!

  9. Anirudh Sharma says:

today i’ve read in the news paper that the committee formed to look the changes in mains pattern has submitted it’s reports to the UPSC and also the upsc has given up to the ministery of work to look into this. It is certain that these changes will happen in 2013 so be ready to face the new challange.

  10. its being a challange for the new commers

  11. Wts going to be the syllabus for general science in this case

  12. should be easy in preparation with new syllabus

  13. Pradeep Chaudhari says:

The basic requisite of a civil servant is he should be bold on every issue for that an applied general knowledge must be the core of an examination.

  14. guys can any one tell what is the mains syllabus for 2015 plssss…..

  15. MoS Sh. V.Narayanswamy replied for a question about the possible changes. He replied that there will not be any change in the exam pattern in 2013.
The air for change is stronger in 2014 or 2015 onwards.
Anyways those preparing with current pattern and emphasis on GS,Public admn will have the advantage.
Mkt is only spreading their own speculations and we should wait until the notification arrives.

  16. mains paper wil be change on 2013 in civil service exam
